Has anyone come across a point of interest (POI) file for magic stores in Canada and/or the US ?
I travel a fair bit and whenever I have some time prior to catching a flight I try to hit the local magic store. Having it on my GPS (TomTom One 3rd edition in case you are wondering) would be awesome. I've started to create one for cities that I visit often but would be nice to have for North America. I see quite a bit of discussion on GPS units in this forum so it seems like something that would be useful. Thanks Marc |

Marc,
I started creating one for magic shops in Southern California. But the hard thing is knowing the stores. If I had a database of all the addresses I could easily created a POI and have it available for TomTom and Garmin. Presently I could create a U.S. POI of magic shops by searching the word "magic shop" but not all the magic shops have the keyword "magic shop" in them. If I search the keyword "magic" that will bring thousands of businesses. G0THIKE |

Although I haven't checked this on any search engines, the standard listing in most phone books for the last several years has been "Magicians Supplies"...
Cuts to the chase pretty good in the yellow pages. It might help find the ones that don't have "magic shop" without a bunch of false positives. B.

Nope, no luck. I am using a POI maker called "MyPOIMaker". I have no idea where it gets its data. G0THIKE |

Ah. Well, it was a shot in the dark. Good luck.
