One of the biggest problems with the routine is the phase where you take the deck out of your mouth and do not talk for a few seconds. This is a problem I and everyone else has encountered with card in mouth routines.
I believe an audience is smart enough to detect that something is in your mouth and because of that it lowers the whole effect as a puzzle rather than a presentation piece. When doing card in mouth in comedy clubs (and in my stage show) I found that I need to become overly animated to compensate for the non-talking part of the routine. It adds a nice contrast and brings the routine back from the puzzle peice to a performance piece. Josh London |

Very nice performance!!!
If you have ever seen David Stone perform card in mouth you will notice a nice thing where he makes a 'hop hop hop' noise when he is juggling the cards around which give a sense that there is nothing in his mouth rather than been silent!! Good job, magico563:-) |
