Lets share some talk & ideas on this show. I watched it last Wednesday. I thought it was fairly good,and noticed that they were looking more at the presentation than the trick itself. Several people I talk to in person didn't like it.

There are already multiple threads going on about this show. You're right...the majority opinion seems not very good.

It was fun to see Chris use Houdini's technique of appearing to do real magic (in the spectacle sense) and then in the Houdini tradition dish anyone else presenting magic as real.(nice staging though)
