I've been using art foam rubber--one pad is red and one pad is black so I can switch depending on the color of cards or the color of props that I'll be using. The price? about 66 cents each.

Hi everyone,
This discussion has been extremely helpful! What size pads do most of you use? Thanks! |

I saw someone who does a lot of CU walkaround magic and he had taken a small plastic tray with handles on either side, attached a closeup pad to the top, and a small net bag hung off the side.
So he'd walkaround, get a small group of spectators, and have them hold the tray by the handles (it was super lightweight). The bag held anything he needed to drop off the side, and he'd perform right on the tray/pad. He said the person who ended up holding the tray always LOVED it, because they were so close and felt so involved. And he'd be able to perform for a nice and intimate group, then quickly put his cards/props/whatever in the bag and move on to another group of people. Clever, clever boy! |

The Museum Shops has a small mouse pad with an oriental carpet design on it. It's texture is really nice for card work. But again it's on the small side.
