I just got 3 decks from a nice seller on eBay and he said they were distributed by Murphy's Magic.
The gimmick card(s) are cut 1/8"... it leaves a bit of a noticeable gap between each card in the deck and a short end on each of the cards. Is this normal? Should I return them? |

That is to much for a serious performer who has developed a delicate touch, probably okay for gorilla hands.
You should try the Nu way cut

Nu way?
I remeasured and they're more close to a sliver over a 1/16th however the rounded corners look much deeper when you look at the deck profile I guess it's ok, maybe I am just not used to it but I am going to try a different brand next time. (Kind I got had instructions by Daryl cover and were distributed by Murphy's Magic) I'd love to get some Bicycle factory sealed brand but not sure if it's worth the extra $$. Also I don't know if they use the same force card for every deck or not? How are the Bicycle stripper decks; I got one of those too that wasn't very masterfully crafted. |

In addition to having a thicker and more durable card stock, a Bicycle Svengali Deck has the advantage of being able to be switched for a matching straight Bicycle deck. SETH

Err I mean a Bicycle-made Svengali deck. Like the ones I have now are Bicycle but Bicycle makes their own Svengali decks too

Eighth of an inch is far too much. A mass manufactured factory deck will always have the fame f. card. A smaller dealer that makes them himself will have differing cards. However, the better ones do have the corners rounded rather than being simply trimmed. Martini's Magic, for one, produce a good one.

Well then I suppose you can say these are well made if 1/16" - 3/32" is normal. They do have rounded corners and that's what threw me off. I guess it takes some practice.
I think I'll buy one bicycle-made Svengali deck but go with others to diversify my Svengali collection |

I think you can use them without any problems. After all, your not going to be squaring up the deck and showing the ends anyway. Just go on and have some fun with them.
Good luck. Mark. |
