I see several people asked what the music was and nobody answered! Shoot! The controls up at the top of the screen were in Italian so I couldn't figure out how to log out my kid and log myself in so I could ask for what appeared to be the sixth or seventh time. Sorry.

It might be some royalty-free piece that was written to sound like some well known copyrighted piece.
Woke up.

Sounds like 1960's film music, why don't you ask the person who put the video up?

I agree with Corona: it's got to be film music from the 60s. So: how do you find it without knowing the original youtube poster? Impossible. Maybe there is a film music forum somewhere. But my guess is that you're never gonna find the answer. Sorry.

Do you have a phone service in italy it usually costs a little bit but you ring them up and you play the music through your phone and it identify it...Try that! But I'm pretty sure its the opening theme to Austin Powers tho..."Soul Bossa Nova" by Quincy Jones
Actually listening, its similar, but I don't think its it... |

I think it is original of the period rather than a modern stylistic rendition, perhaps Casino Royale, Herb Alpert is a contender too.

Some likely leads here: http://www.moviegrooves.com/shop/by_genre/60s.htm
You can listen to samples from several tracks on each album. Great site actually, almost made me want to spend money on music. |

Henry Mancini?
Just an uneducated guess. |

I know a podcast that uses that music for its theme, and I have emailed an inquiry - will let you know.

Ross, thank you very much, hope they'll answer.
George: I also thought about Mancini, but in what I could hear there was no match. Thanks anyway.

Found it!
According to the podcaster who uses it, it's one of the tunes (resident as a loop set in the software) that you can tweak (unbelievably well) in the Sonicfire Pro music-creating software. |
