Hi there. I'm interested in both magic and aquariums/fish. I have an aquarium.
I thought about producing some real fishes in my act. Which methods do you recommend to use without hurting the fishes? I'm looking for effects like fishes appear in a small empty aquarium or something. |

One method is as simple as a mirror glass. (Use several fish.)
I'm not sure the plexiglas aquarium is still available. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

There is an effect where a live goldfish appears inside a sealed bottle of spring water (which you can take from a spectator at a picnic, etc. if you wish because the bottle is completely unprepared at the start), and is then poured out into a transparent Party Cup. It's described in my Dollar Store Magic section under the name "Party Cup Magic."
I also have an "Appearing Goldfish" effect where one or more goldfish appear in a clear goldfish bowl from the Dollar Store or from a Pet Shop. You gimmick the bowl yourself following my directions. That one is located in The Wizards' Journal #6 on my site. No fake animals are harmed in either effect! The live ones aren't harmed either!

The Kozuch Gimmick is great for hand production of a single smaller fish (I use a guppy), although it's a little constrained to leave the fish in too long. Also, the Artistic Fish is a good visual appearance (slightly cramped space also). There's another one I am interested in but do not have, which is the Fish Kerchief (silk effet where fish disappears from silk but is "poured" into bowl). Balloonfish by Tivoli seemed too confining for the fish (glorified fish TT). I got rid of that one.

Hi, with Kozuch`s gimmick you can make a very similar effect to artistic fish...maybe even better...

I use the classic fish bowl by Hughes magic. it's great for producing multiple fish and looks great on stage.

Little Fishy is for walk around and close-up magic. One fish appears inside of a small jar from an empty silk.

Try seaching for "fish" tricks online at different magic shops.

Any fishbowl production would work as well. Such as the Westgate bowl production or any other bowl production.

I would try Hank Lee, Daytona Magic, and Hocus Pocus for large selection and good periodic sales(I got most of my fish stuff from Hank Lee), but also Madhatter Magic and MJM Magic for good service and, often, better prices.
