As good as it is to see this clip it does not show KEN'S HUMOUR AND HIS WAY AS A PERFORMER. Whoever filmed it must have just wanted it silent to music. I will tell you when I saw him do this live, along with Ricky Jay in a pub in London, he had 'em rolling with laughter and surprise. The second one makes me want to go out and buy a set of linking rings! That video was really good.

Love the perky music on the CB routine!
I was a bit difficult to tell for sure, but his wand looked like a small, cut tree branch. Is that correct?
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Sadly, none of the videos in that series really show Ken's personality.
The director/camera person just shot them in a sterile setting. Ken did a series of demo films for Harry Stanley in those early days. Lot of wht they filmed ws Slydini material that Ken learned from Slydini when he lecured and taught in London. They were on movie film and amazingly I carried a full set of them home from London for Lloyd Jones, but none of that set were ever transferred or duped and they somehow vanished from the scene.

Thanks Pete,
What great footage. One of my regrets is that I got in the game a little too late to see him in person :-( Joe H |

Although I bought a fair amount from Ken, I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person or seeing him perform.
I loved the pace of his magic - whether executing a sleight or not there was never any rushing. Reminds me somewhat of Michael Skinner - from what I've seen. I guess I was a little surprised to see how technically proficient he was. Sadly we, or at least I, tend to assume those that are always pushing the "entertainment" aspect of magic tend to use it as a cover for magical deficiencies. Certainly not the case here! Thanks, Pete, for bringing these to our attention. s.a.m. |

Ken was not only funny but he had the chops too. Rare among dealers. I do miss the man. He and Kaps were the most influential to me, along with Jay Marshall.
