For #6, I would have to go with a brand name, like Coca Cola or Kleenex. But "taxi" is right up there, from what I understand.
Will you walk into my parlour? said the Spider to the Fly,
Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, And I've a many curious things to show when you are there. Oh no, no, said the little Fly, to ask me is in vain, For who goes up your winding stair -can ne'er come down again. |

Patrick has a good point about Coca Cola, that was common in all the countries I went to but they are simply using the English word because they don't have one for it in their own country. Hot dog too, I could find hot dogs every where.

I believe the name is 'bobtail'. "Bells on Bobtail ring..."

If you check the library of congress reproduction of Pierpont's original composition Jingle Bells "bob tail" is not capitalized, and is surely a description of a horse with a cut, or bobbed, tail. John is right, as in the song lyric "I bet my money on a bob tailed nag, somebody bet on the bay...." so Bob Tail is decriptive rather than the name. That is unless they named it Bobtail kind of like naming a black cat Blackie.
I just checked the original lyrics and later on in the song they say 'just get a bob-tailed bay' further supporting Johns belief since the 'a' indicates any bob tailed bay will do. |
