How many different shapes would a twister have to know to table hop in a restaurant?
How about busking at a fair? With the great number of instruct material out there, you could go on learning new shapes forever. At what point do you say "I'm ready"? |

It's not the number of things you can make but your ability to interact and entertain an audience. Many people can make simple shapes (the basic shape can become dog, cat, giraffe, bunny....). Learn these because people will ask for them. Then learn to do hats. Hats are huge (I mostly only do hats because I want to be different). I have also learned to make houses and other big objects and a few complex pieces.
When I began, many years ago, I was taught: Dog, cat, giraffe, bunny, turtle bracelet, swan, and twisty hat. I was then sent out to do balloons (for a clown company). I was already an entertainer before doing this so I had those skills to rely on. Even with this limited number of shapes, I was still able to entertain. So to answer your question in an even more abstract way. As many as you think you need...or look at it this way. What would you expect from a twister, then surpass that a little. |
