Hello All,
I have been performing the Benson Bowl for a while now and use Johnny Thompsons idea of a deck of cards for a final load. Seated, this is perfect and works well. Recently, I have been doing this standing and hide/retreive the final load from between my knees, much like Paul Gertner does with his Jumbo Dice routine. However, the angles in some venues are tough for this method. Does anyone have any suggestions as to another means to hide/retrive a deck of cards load? I have tried my pockets, but am finding difficult to "palm" the entire deck and load the bowl. thank you in advance for your thoughts, David |

Here are some quick and probably not original ideas.
If you're working on a cloth tablecloth you might consider making a "Hoo" deck case and hang it on the cloth just below the top of the table. Another idea is to use a deck case with a loop. Put it in a side pocket. Have the loop accessable so you can get your thumb in it. |

David,
Have the pack clipped inside your jacket pocket. As you put the last ball away...put it in your inside breast pocket and simultaneously retrieve and drop the deck in your sleeves via the armhole. You may pause while your left arm is bent so you can casually show your hands empty. As you tap the bowl with your wand (right hand) drop your left arm casually to your side and catch the deck. That is a method I use. I,m sure you can see the picture. Best of luck! Rannie

EDDY RAY use a deck of cards for final load in his standing routine, you can see it in his C&B DVD, it is not the best dvd around but at least you can see what not to do.

Thanks for the input. I did a search for Eddy Rays DVD... can't find it. Any ideas where I can get it.

Better to spend te time experimenting with different techniques yourself. I'm sure Bill will have given you a couple of good tips by PM.

He got a big laugh when he took a bite and commented that he was hungry. Later in the lecture he did a card routine in which the selected card--I can't recall if it was signed or not--vanished and was ultimately found inside the sandwich...with a bite taken out of it. Needless to say, it brought down the house. As I recall, JT actually bit off and swallowed a piece of the card when he took a bite of the sandwich. |

I think that bit (no pun intended) is in Polished Polish Presentations.
