Has anyone seen gray or silver colored 18" or 24" silks?

Yes! But today the best solution is to only show one side or make it three layers with a (Flag) blue between two (dyed white, not bleached white) silks. The real problem is that hems in the USA just don't hold a candle to the good 2mm flat ones from China.
A certain drink bottler uses the colors red, white and silver. Flag blue behind white was the solution. Otherwise post production has to save you in the ads. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |

I can get a good grey silk fabric. It looks almost silver. It is not a color that is easily dyed however.
I made Scott Wells devils hank out of this stuff. Richard

I contacted Richard with that question a couple of years ago. He found me a dark, silvery-gray colored silk.
Richard, do you know if the silk you mentioned above is the same as you made my color changing silks from? I had been thinking about getting you to make me somemore, but right now I am just in the planning phase. If you have found a better source for silver colored silk it might hasten my planning! Regan

It probably is the same. But I would have to look at my records to double check.

It depends on the purpose of the silks. If they don't have to be compressed then why not taking a regular silver tissue which is shining and beautiful and make your silks?
Personaly, I don't like grey color for stage, its too invisible and not interesting. Just my thoughts, Best, Soleil

Dyeing silk is not that easy. It is hard to get the color even.

The reason for my orignal post is because I have a 36" Happy Birthday silk that has black, yellow, red, white and gray. I wanted to do a blendo with 18" silks of each color. I have each color expect gray.

I will try to remember to look to see if I still have some silk left in that color. If I forget, drop me a regular email.

David,
LOL! It just occurred to me how many of my friends here (me included) watched each other learn a lot about gray and silver. If it applies to hair, it ought to apply to silk! We have mastered color changing hair. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander PS --- Richard is the right guy here because he dyes his hair gray and silver just to keep in good graces with the rest of us. I found the grey silk from when I made the first Devils Hanks from Silk. I have about 3 yds in stock. I can reorder but who knows with today's costs.
Send me a regular email and I will get back to you with a price for the size you want. Richard
