Hi there,
I'm fairly new to Marlo's material, and I'd like to begin with his RCT, but it's fairly expensive. And then I found this Early Marlo which is not so expensive. I'm thinking of start my journey through Marlo's material with this book. Is this book good for beginner of Marlo's material? Thanks Ario |

"The Cardician" is a great choice. Also "Marlo in Tears." The "Heirophant" series by Jon Racherbaumer is very heavy with Marlo material and there's some great gold to mine there.

Mike, did you mean "Marlo without Tears"?
Another full Marlo reference is Kabbala. |

Yes, it's Marlo Without Tears!! And you're right about Kabbala. It's great. There's also the Sticks and Stones series that Racherbaumer put out. There's good stuff there too. If you're really hardcore, there are the 6 Marlo Magazines, The Unexpected Card book etc. I think bang for the buck goes with Heirophant, Kaballa, Sticks and Stones, Cardician etc.

Hi, thanks all for your suggestions! How about the Early Marlo itself?

There are little nuggest of gold in many of the small Marlo booklets. I can't think of anything in particular from Early Marlo, though. I'm sure someone will fool the pants off of me with something from there at some point. Dan Block did a couple of items from Marlo In Spades awhile back that were very cool.
You can't go wrong with Cardician, Marlo Without Tears, Heirophant, Kaballa and Sticks and Stones. Mike

For example, the Eidetic change first appeared in Kabbala. His work on Think Ace routines and Clock work are also in Kabbala.
In Hierophant, you will find his take on the open prediction, and estimations among other things. Personally, I favor the material in Hierophant over the material in Kabbala. The Hierophant also has a very interesting open letter to Nick Trost about not properly crediting his effects. It was written by Jon Racherbaumer in 1969. |

It's as good as any book as none of his books are really aimed at the beginner. Plus it doesn't overly hurt the budget. I would buy it just for the trick Oddity as it's a low sleight, high impact card trick.

I don't believe anyone has brought this up on the thread yet, but Jon Racherbaumer has a site. You pay a membership for a year and you get access to an amazing amount of manuscripts that you can download. I've got more than I know what to do with, it will take me years to comb through it all.
