Has anyone ever put any thought into producing a Kid's Show / Birthday Party show from a Drawer Box?
Show the box empty right at the beginning, say you forgot to pack, call home and have your wifw magically send the show to you, open box and it is noe "Full" of you magic show. Any ideas as to how you would make? What type of props you'd use with this box? Size of bow? Etc. I've thought about this for some time. Thanks Scott Shoemaker ...Shooz

I think it might be nice to "empty" out the box each time, producing the tricks one by one and showing the box empty between each one. If your box can stand scrutiny, it might be fun to have a helper reach in it to get your magic wand or something. The helper finds the box empty and you have to remind him to "say the magic word" before getting the wand for him (so he doesn't see the other stuff in the box). However, the net effect is that he reached inside, found nothing, said the magic word and then the wand appeared.

Spellbinder... Thanks. I get your idea but was thinking more along the lines of a "larger "box that had the whole show appearing inside.
Anyone else have ideas on what to make box from, etc.?? Shooz

Hi Shooz, I think Spellbinder mentioned just that in his first sentence but rather than appearing the whole show at once (which is a rather unusual production item) use it to appear each trick as you come to it.
It could be easily done with one of the larger draw boxes and a suitcase style show. However, it does seem a bit restricting to have one effect govern your whole show. Some children's magic sets use this premiss. If you do go ahead I'd say the answer to your last question is probably wood. George |
