Hi Jay - thanks so much for being here on the Café this week! As a huge fan of your work, I'm enjoying reading your thoughts very much. Your creativity inspires me to look at magical effects from many different directions.
I was wondering if you could talk a bit about your experience working with David Copperfield, teaching him Airtight for his special. How did this come about? Was he interested in other effects of yours as well, selecting Airtight from several possibilities? What was the teaching & consulting process like? Thanks very much! |

I heard Copperfield didn't feel comfortable palming a card for that routine so he had double-sided tape on his palm. Is that a true story?
Thanks for taking the time to come here and indulge us. |

Great addition - double-sided tape for a comfortable palm.
Hi Jay, have a nice stay and thanks for releasing your magical ideas to all of us. Cheers |

There used to be a torn and restored card that used this method also. I don't think it was Jay's though.

I actually only spoke to David over the phone. We have never met. And no, I'm quite sure he did NOT use D/S tape, though he did restructure the effect to better suit his style and the tv environment. If I recall, I liked how he reworked it.
