Hello, I just did a kid show yesterday and it went quite well, with Rocky being one of the highlights. I was just wondering what were some of the routines you all do and some of the funny one liners. I just do Rocky finds a selected card and a little bit of patter about how to feed raccoons. I showed them the proper way, which is with his mouth, and how to never feed them, which of course is with his butt. Of course, everyone, including the adults, laugh at this. I also do the play dead Rocky gag. I was just wanting to make Rocky a larger part of my shows by adding more comedic lines and possibly some more tricks.
Thanks, Seth |

I end my Rocky routine with Rocky jumping at the children out of control, which is why he needs a time out. After he is put back in his box, I ask if anyone was bitten so that I may kiss them better. Of course, they usually all protest they were bitten by Rocky. If they don't, I pretend hear it. I then pick out an older boy & ask where he was bitten so I can kiss it better. Just this line usually gets a laugh. Regardless of what he says, I pretend hear his bottom and protest, 'Your bottom? I'm not kissing you there!'
Actually, Seth, I think I explained this little bit of business before in another Rocky thread here in the Café. BTW, that type of humour is as far as I think I can go without risking offending people. I promote my show as having no offensive humour. I will say the word bottom in my show twice at most and that is one time. I never say 'butt' or 'bum' because many children will have been taught those are rude words.

I never actually say either of the words. I only make the motion that Rocky is eating with his bottom. "Butt," however, was just the first word that came to mind when I was writing this earlier.
Thanks for the ideas, though. |
