Hello,
Just wondering what some of you are doing to acquire magic giveaways. Do you buy retails or wholesale? If you buy wholesale, do you have to have a federal i.d. number and such? Do you have to buy a minimum amount when you buy wholesale? Where do you buy from? What kinds of tricks do you put in the kits? Any help would be appreciated? Thanks, Dorian

I use to put my own together, but it just seemed to be a pain. I now just buy a complete magic set from Fantasma Magic. Roger Dyer is great to deal with too. I buy a minimun from him and he gives me a good price.
You can also get stuff from D.Robbins & Co. at http://www.e-zmagic.com/. You setup an account and you can order from them. You have to buy minimums of things and your order has to be over $200.00 per order. Hope that helps. Cheers, B-Rad

In past I think to give away Magic Sets as gifts but a good friend cracks my head because he have a point. The kid see your show, maybe he think you are doing some real miracles with silks and flowers etc...but you destroy that illusion providing to him a magic kit that shows you are doing tricks..all that stuff he think is pure magic converts in hidden trapdoors, pockets etc...i don't agree with him in a 100% maybe in 85% but hi got a point and its valid...what you think guys?
Thanks, Hansel!

I think the implication of Hansel's observations it that the kid will think that they haven't got the real thing. We gave them a toy magic kit and not a real magic kit.
Is this a bad thing? Well I guess you have to decide that for yourself, but I know of an awful lot of magicians who became hooked because of a magic kit.
Magically yours,

Any way I think your point is valid too and I respect them! Thanks, Hansel!

Magician Brad Ross has a Goodie Bags and Giveaway Course that he sells where he tips exactly what he puts into his magic kit, packaging tips, how to sell it properly, etc. . I highly recommend. http://www.moremoneywithmagic.com/ross.htm
I don't see too much of a problem with giving away magic kits, especially for older children. . It can really open a lot of doors. . I'm sure you all remember your first magic kit (For me it was the Fisher PRice MAgic Show. Then The pressman set!) |
