I've been boning up on my luthier skills, specifically, building electric guitar necks. Of course this time of year I do a lot of gardening, so, horticultural books begin to pile up on the coffee table in my study. I always "read" Batman graphic novels. I don't log many hours reading novels and such until winter rolls around.

I just started "There Is A God: How the World's Most Notorious Atheist Changed His Mind" by Antony Flew. It helps clarify all the Internet commentary by others that has been going on the past 3-4 years regarding Flew's "conversion" to deism.

Terry, somehow this whole story passed me by. I'll have to check the Flew book out when I'm done with the monster that Doug H recommended (it won't be soon...)

I am anout to order the Flew book. It looks pretty interesting from whatI have read on the internet so far. Thanks for the title.
At the moment all I am reading is few books on Chinese because I need to pass the Chinese proficiency test in November and it requires knowledge of about 5000 characters. My head is exploding. Ta Ma De. |

My mother took some test some 35 years ago that required the knowledge of about 5000 characters--do you think it was the same test? Flash cards were lying all over the place. Fun memory.
Good luck on the test. I never learned much Chinese because I went to an American school. Shadowlands is now on my reading list. Hey, when you guys finish the Flew book, how about a review? |

This test was only designed in the late 90's as far as I recall so it would depend on when she did the test.
I don't read that much so you may have to wait a while for the review. |

"The Anatomist." Story of how Gray's Anatomy came to be. "The Biography Of A Dollar: How Mr Greenback Greases The Skids Of America And The World." How a buck is made (not earned, but created), spent, travels, and impacts the global economy. "God's Problem: How The Bible Fails To Answer Our Most Important Question -- Why We Suffer." Part rant, part mewl, part rehash. I take my son to the library on Wednesdays to do his homework, and while there I try to read one of the new non-fiction books available. |

John! You seem to be having 'fun' with the book I recommended. Maybe fun is not the word.
Is the paperback edited somewhat? I love that paper in the hardback. really fine stuff. Quite the book though huh? I like 'Virus In Fine Art' beginning on page 10 as a thought excercise and reason for the book.
