My dvd is broken.
After 20 minutes the sound is lost and I can watch a silent movie.

It is not broken. I even addressed this in my review (see above link)
The sound for the lecture portion is on the Right channel, the sound for the performance is on the left. If you watch it on a stereo system, you will not notice anything out of the ordinary, if you watch it on a mono system, you may have to switch audio cables. Tony |

And why does it switch to nothing automatically and suddenly after 20 minutes with normal sound?...No, this has nothing to do with mentalism.

Because of the way the original was assembled. They, more than likely, had 2 microphones on the camera, one was used for the lecture, and the other for the performance portion. Each recorded on it's own sound channel (one left, one right).
If you watch it on a stereo system, you will not notice this at all. I've come accross this before so I recognized what it was. (The TV I watch my videos on is mono.) I placed the DVD in my computer and had no problems watching it there. Tony |

I loved the audio tapes I have! I'm not gun ho on any of the booklets yet.

Is the Parrish card force suitable for a mental routine, or does it look "card tricky"?

Well ... I saw the billet switching on camera already. Or the fact that there was more than one in his hand. Not good so far. I'm half way through. Going slowly. Working on my German

I would say the 'Parrish card force' is perfect for a mental effect.
Maybe not suitable for close up,strolling type work. It does'nt look 'tricky' it looks very fair. The performer takes cards from one hand to the other and a spectator shouts stop.

I just watched the DVD. I liked it.
There are demonstrations of a whole bunch of billet techniques, but very little time is spent teaching them. I think that, with sufficient re-winds, a viewer could learn the Mag Eye Move and possibly a nice TT billet handling. The Temple Switch and Acidus are demonstrated, but not enough details are provided to learn the techniques from the video alone. From the video, it looked like notes were provided at the lecture. I’ll guess that is why Al Mann did not go into great detail about the moves. Unfortunately, the video does not come with the lecture notes (unless it does, and I missed it.) There was an interesting mistake early on the video…although it is possible that the cameraman was at a different angel than the rest of the audience. I’ll have to take another look at that. The sound thing is kind of odd, but it worked OK on my computer. |

Oh, yeah. Since people asked about the Parish Force…
I wasn’t paying close attention to the card stuff, but I think it should be noted that the Parish Force uses a highly gimmicked deck. It’s pretty cool, but you will not be able to use it in AAA situations and, of course, the deck cannot be inspected. |

That tells me all I need to know. Many thanks. JW
