It took awhile, but my finally found my old Punahou school class ring. As some of you may know, Barak Obama also went to Punahou ('79) and I was trying to come up with tricks and patter for my ring (which is now a potential conversation piece).

I was thinking along the lines of ring and string effects with patter like-- the ring was put on display but people kept trying to swipe it, so now a cord keeps it tied down. Maybe followed by Harkey's Goldfinger as to why no one seems to be able to steal it.

Does anyone have any other ideas and routines that would fit?

If, by chance, you went to Punahou (Kainoa, are you there?) any thoughts on how to incorporate the ring turning procedure?

This is a great idea; you might as well go crazy with it.

Just out of curiosity, does "Barry" (as he was apparently called by the Punahou crowd) happen to wear his ring or even have a ring? It's not like he's going to have a hard time getting the Hawai'i vote.

Maybe the patter is that this IS his ring, and you can only show it to a few people without the secret service tackling you? It would add weird tension to the effect.

Thanks for the ideas! Obama seems to wear a wedding ring, but not a class ring (no school patriotism I guess -- either that or the initials that go on the ring of "B.O." just didn't seem dignified ). Hmm... there's patter in there somewhere.
