Hello fellow Ventriloquists,
I just wanted to thank you all for your posts, you have all helped me get inspired and interested in ventriloquism, and I am proud to say that today I ordered my first puppet!

I'll let you guys know how my introduction to my new friend goes when he gets here, and when it comes around, pictures from my first show.

Thanks again guys!

Thanks guys!

I got a Gund cowboy puppet (Ed the Cowboy Living Puppet), it's 25 in. tall, has those great big hands and a great face. My act as a cowboy theme, and upon questioning the store, I decided it would be better to get the face I like, and change the clothes when I need to!

It should be here today (Mr. Impatient here had it over-nighted haha), I'll try to post some pictures of the first meeting.

Haven't decided on a name yet, I have a few I like, but wanted to see the puppet in life before I stuck with one.

I'm just really excited right, in case you can't tell!

Danton

And maybe when I get good at this, I'll be able to get one of Wanlu's puppets!

Hay Danton...it would be our pleasure to make one for you Smile

We do make custom puppets...just send your design and we will work on it.

In the meantime, have fun with your new friend. Focus your attention to that puppet only...more figures will come IF and only IF you need them.

Don't do what I did...I bought practically all the puppets that were for sale...a wooden Selberg, Poyner, Payes, Carcamo, Barry, Detweiler, Croes, Schrum, MAT, Axtell, Pavlov, Folkmanis and even a Braylu semi pro Howdy Doody Smile plus a few toy vent dolls too (Groucho, O'Day and McCarthy)

I ended up SELLING most of them and kept only the ones I really need and the ones I really use Smile Poyner and Axtells Smile

They have a word for this addiction...it escapes me right now. Smile keep away from this epidemic Smile it's actually fun but kinda expensive and confusing Smile

Have fun with the Cowboy...ihaaa Smile

Thanks Wanlu,
It will be awhile before I think about getting another one.

He got here earlier then expected, was impatient to get out of the box, and we had lovely time getting to know one another.

Here are a few pictures from his homecoming!

Thumbs Up!

We're looking forward to making many happy memories together.

Well, Tonight I gave my first performance (so to speak [pun intended]), at the county 4-H talent show. I Emceed the event, so Clyde (my puppet) helped me out a little in between acts. Everyone really liked it, and I got most of it taped.

Hopefully watching the tape it help me see what I need to work on.

(just FYI) I've been working on my "act" for about three monthes, but I did just get the puppet tuesday. =) I just didn't want any of you to think I was performing without doing my work before the show. =P)
