It's amazing what you can achieve without an invisible riffle pass. Just goes to show that technique isn't everything!
I met Michael (can't remember the circumstances) in a St. Louis hotel room w/ one or two other people back around 1987 or '88. A TRUE gentlman, in every sense - even when he had hair! |

I also saw him when he came here. i was at his private lecture and at the regular one. im still in awe. his bill to lemon is just too good. i just hope he releases it soon. a topit is a device that can vanish any small object. jay scott berry is touring now and giving lessons with the topit, if you can find him it would be a good experience. Ammars topit work is just amazing.

I bought some of his tapes from my dealer who liked selling them because Michael was such an approachable nice guy. I emailed him a question and he wrote back a very thought out and personal response.

This comment is 2 years too late--but hey there's not statute of limitation on rectifying math errors!!
I was at Michael Ammar's lecture at Louisville last night, and decided to check out the Magic Café comments on Ammar. In this thread someone wrote about a deck being tossed 40 feet for a card to ceiling effect. I'd like to say that's well neigh impossible. (I must have been waiting all my life to use "neigh" in a sentance...)Forty feet is a four storied building. Quite beyond the prowess of mere mortals be they Ammar or not. But my point was to address r4bid and Mark Butcher in their taking issue with Jonatan B's conversion of 40 feet to 12.192 meters. Jonatan is right you know. In much of Europe a comma is used as a decimal point...so he was talking about just 12 meters... Incidentally, Ammar didn't do the card to ceiling in Louisville last night. He did the production in a "card from balloon" format. Great presentation. Manoj

MShanker... It appears you waited too long to use "nigh" in a sentence.
Nigh: Near in time, place, or relationship: Evening draws nigh. Neigh (what you used)The long, high-pitched sound made by a horse. As to 40 feet being too high, I cant say for sure. I personally did one on the ceiling of a gym/auditorium that was 32 feet high.
If you ever get to a point where words have no meaning, you're probably talking to a dog.

When Ammar was in Salt Lake, he was terrific. I echo all that has been said....he was approachable and helpful and very interesting. I learned a lot. What a great ambassador for Magic! And has he been working out? He looked buff!

Mr. Ammar was what really brought me into the magic world. I probably would have quit a long time ago if it wasn't for the Easy To Master Card Miracles.
He does seem like the nicest guy you've ever met before. Adam |
