I was wondering if you have ever heard of someone combining cups and balls with shakercups and juggling. I mean has anyone juggled 3 shakercups in a routine and then done a cups and ball routine with the same prop or vice versa. I am trying to figure out how this could be done.

Great question. I have heard that the cups are the wrong shape, but that statement was made by people who can't juggle. I would love to hear, and see what a good juggler can come up with. Good luck

The standard shaker cup does not work for some cups and balls moves. And if you try to use cups and balls cups they can not be juggled. That said...the best adaptation I have seen of this idea is Robb Zeiser but it was more along the idea of the three shell game and it was more of a clown routine.
I have toyed with the idea before myself but never found something I really liked. IMHO...To really capture the magic you would have to invent some loading moves that could be used in the process of the juggling moves. I have not seen too much else...especially because I don't see too many people doing the cups. I have done the table cloth pull with a stack of 6 cups. One more note on cups. A few years ago I bought a set from http://www.jugglingarts.com/proplist.html and they are by far the best cup I have ever owned. Check them out. All the best, Kevin |

I bought 3 heavy cup copper brassed at Fantasma magic-they were over a hundred dollars. You can do shakercups moves with them. Of course it is only possible to do 3 cups. At the end I plan to appear a lime a lemon and ?. Insted of balls I use olives. I will see what I come up with...

Andy Comic dose some on the vidio that comes with his cups, but his cups are a bit thin so if you drop them bad things can happen.
Any thing can be juggled, just if it is not a juggling prop you must watch braking the prop, or hurting your self. people respond well when I juggle non juggling props. go for it.

Thank you Larry,
I enjoyed reading the thread-i got one routine down now it's Caroll Bakers advanced routine from Xposed. I added a little juggling at the start like some easy shakercup stuff, but as I have only 3 little cups it's fairly basic. I use olives instead of balls and load 3 limes/lemons at the end of the cups and balls routine and then two more in order to have 5 limes and juggle them. Anyway, this cups and balls is a speaking routine before I start my flair bottle routines to music. I am doing this show at Rogue's on the September 13th- so if anyone is in new york come by- I am doing altogether 15 minutes that night and its new. |
