Need help from owners of this effect.
I just purchase the Super Walking Knot from a Member of this Forum, but he didn’t include instructions, only the rope. He never answers my PMs, so I’m alone on this.. The rope is from a good quality material about 3/8” but not as white as the Elite Rope, The gimmicks are well done, so I assume that it’s an original version. The rope has 16 sections, 2 large and 15 small. After watching some videos I was able to figure out the routine; I only have the following question about the knot: It’s necessary to have an extra piece of rope to make the knot? Or I need to take it from a small section of the rope during performance? If necessary, feel free to PM to avoid expose it. Thanks! |

You palm nothing every knot is one of those 15 pieces that you spoke of, and you cut the rope with a pair of scissors.

Al, thanks a lot for the information.
Now I will focus to find the best method to make this illusion looks good. Cheers! |

Most of the routines online probably only opens at 3 sections which is what possible with the simplified walking know. The super walking knot allows a more interactive presentation. I liked the idea by Peter Gossamer, having the audience hold a STOP sign and lift it up at any point when he is sliding the knot. Do be careful while sliding the knot and don't make the knot too tight....

Generally there are three cuts of less, but the super walking knot allows you to randomly select where to make the cuts.

Generally there is only one “cut”. The performer moves the knife up and down the length of the rope until the audience shouts stop (or somehow indicates that the performer should stop). The performer cuts where indicated (a feint has to be performed using the three gimmick version). The rope is cut and the scissors pocketed. The rope is tied together.
Now comes the real magic (and Pavel’s brilliance!). The knot is moved left or right (again this can be audience’s choice) well away from the original cut area. The rope is untied and found still cut in two pieces. The rope is retied and the knot is again moved (in the opposite direction). Here the rope can be untied again showing the knot has truly moved or the rope can be shown restored. No extra rope is needed it is a self-contained illusion.

Dear Harry (and other fellow Café members)...
In your opinion, could the Super walking knot be performed effectively using pantomime in a silent comedy show? If so, since there are several variations of this effect out on the market, which version IYHO is best? From comments [posted on a imilar thread, I see that "Simplified" Walking knot, availalbe form Pavel directly, is likely to be the best version for silent performance. Is that right? If so, is it also the best version if the silent performer incorporates bringing up a volunteer form the audience to help out on stage with this effect? The simplified version has "three" cuts in total... correct? Does Pavel provide a DVD of him performing this effect silently, or only performance DVD that shows him speaking to present the effect? Jonathan PS: After posting the above questions, I will make effots to search out Pavel's site, as I am guessing some of the info I seek might be posted there as well.

I've Finally) taken a look at related threads here on the Café and (naturally) found just about all the answers to my many questions.
Should have done that first prior to posting. My apologies. Still, further input and comments are welcome on, especially input having to do with performing this effect (the simplified version) silently --with or without volunteers. Jonathan

What do you think would draw the better audience reaction, Junior Walking Kot with the Krazy Knot/Finale or Simplified Walking Knot ?

The first three trick combo is a killer. If you buy the junior walking knot, with the finale you get three tricks for the price of two.

I bet if you e-mail Pavel he'll send you some instructions - either by e-mail or through the post. It's a brilliant effect - but don't tie your knot too tightly!
