I have a chess-playing buddy who needs your help!
He was playing a chess game as black, which wound up being rather short. As usual, he was writing down the moves so he could study the game later (he has a poor memory for moves, so writing them down is essential to his improvement in chess). The cigar-chomping white player was so mad about losing in such a short time, though, that he took his cigar, and partially burned the notes. My friend could still read all of white's moves, but could no longer read anything in the column he had for his own moves (black), except for the word "mate" in the 4th row in black's column. Below are white's moves. Can you help him reconstruct the chess game as a whole? 1. P-KB3 2. K-B2 3. K-Kt.3 4. K-R4 |

Hmmm . . . no takers, I guess. Here's the answer for those who are curious.
