They're prices are pretty good for some items I'm considering buying. Anyone have any experience with them?

I have been to their shop a few times when they were near where I lived (they moved).

I haven't, but I have heard from a friend that they are not that good. I don't know... I thought magicproshop has the best prices, and they have guaranteed lowest price too. Check them out.

I have not ordered from Magic Geek ... but just for fun I went on their site and started to order "Healed and Sealed."
Their price was $14.99 + $6.00 for shipping. $6.00 to ship a tiny pamphlet that would cost less then $1 to ship in the mail? That doesn't make any sense. If you haven't checked out Penguin yet, they have tons of stuff, they have super low prices, and I'm pretty sure shipping is always free (it has been so far). Penguin gets my vote . . . For the same product, Healed and Sealed, you can get it at Penguin for $10.95 out the door. http://www.penguinmagic.com/ MagiCat |

You can't beat penguin, they ship for free, ship next day or the whole order is free. They guanrentee that they will reply to any questions in 24 hours, they will beat any price, and you get ten percent off.

Agreed, redstreak.
I think every online store, magic related or not, should follow Penguin in their business practices, namely: 1. Ships next day or free 2. Free Shipping 3. E-Mail GRT (reply in 24 hours or $20 gift certificate) Thank you Penguin! This is how shopping on the 'net SHOULD be MagiCat |

Doh ...Slapping my head in disgust...
I've been to Penguin Magic before and never realized they had free shipping! That with a price guarantee, hmmm, time to fill my shopping cart. Thanks Dave

I have ordered a few times from them and have had zero problems. Very friendly on the phone. Like Redstreak mentioned, they moved. I got to visit the store in Santa Barbara once before they left for Idaho and the owner was away on honeymoon! I couldn't believe it... I TOLD HIM I was going to be in town but he went anyways... sheesh
They are good people and like I said, very friendly on the phone too. GlenD

Penguin magic is a very good place to order from if they have what your looking for. I got a three Sankey dvd set from them at a really low price compared to what other online dealers wanted.
I do think the "Ships Next Day" guarentee is sort of misleading though. It means that they will ship your order out the next day, not that it will arrive the next day as I originally thought. I'm not accusing them of anything, because I recieved my order in a very timely manner, but how are you supposed to tell if they really ship your order the next day or not? It just doesn't seem like a very good "guarantee." |

it's better than anyone else, so why are you complaining?

Uhm, Maestro? Just look at the post office markings on the box to verify when it was shipped. And how, with that could the guarantee be misleading?
Their site says: We guarantee that your order will leave our warehouse the next business day. If your order doesn't ship out the same or next business day, you'll receive a Penguin Magic store credit in the amount of your purchase. Please note that we guarantee shipments on business days only. Due to limited postal hours we are unable to guarantee shipments on weekends and postal holidays. The vast majority of orders are shipped the same or next day. There are some situations in which it is necessary for us to temporarily place a security hold on an order. These situations include but are not limited to: non-matching billing address, non-matching CVV, unusually large order-size. We do not necessarily hold orders with non-matching credit card information, but we want you to be aware that it is sometimes necessary. All security investigations will be conducted within one business day. If it is necessary for us to hold your order for security reasons we will expedite your order at our expense. Please email CustomerService@PenguinMagic.com to request a store credit. We've recently instituted a new customer service policy that ensures you'll never have to worry about delayed orders again. Please check out our new policy. MagiCat |

Ok, Ok! Sheesh. All I was saying was that I was originally confused about what their shipping guarentee was. MagiCat, I didn't know the packages were always marked by the post office saying what day they were shipped out on, thank you for correcting me.
Like I said before, I wasn't accusing Penguin magic of not honoring their shipping guarantee, I just didn't know there was a way to verify it besides the e-mail sent by the company. |
