Let me point out something about sponge balls. The best sponge ball routines I have seen have been short and sweet.
Good sponge ball routines do not involve the mouth. Trust me on this. The Sankey Ear Plugs were possibly the last really great thing he marketed. However, do you honestly think people want to have an ear plug in their hands, especially if you are working tables? Whatever you use, buy lots of them, because you will lose them, and the next lot will not be the same color as the ones you currently have. Also, remember BOOKS!!!!! BOOKS!!!!! BOOKS!!!!

The weird thing I have found about sponge balls, is that they always get a good reaction for me.
I initially dismissed them as something for kids only but I have had superb reactions from adults. The best reaction I got was kind of impromptu, I had a pair of green SB's in my pocket and noticed a snooker table in the room where I was performing. Luckily the colour matched completely! I started the routine by rubbing the table and pulling the balls up through it, which got a great reaction and was something I thought of on the spot. Something to consider if you are performing where there is a pool/snooker table... |

I plan on getting his "Eggs With Rubber Ducky." It's not really called that. I just can't remember the right name for the effect right now.

The Lady Bug trick was called Lady Bugd by Rod Spade.
Your dealer can order it from Murphy's. If you want different shapes, you need a big block of foam, a pair of sharp scissors and an electric carving knife. Be careful with the knife, because it can cut you very easily. But nothing carves foam as wonderfully as one of these knives. After carving to shape, dye the sponge to the color you want.

I used to perform with the lady bugs. The only problem is they would end up upside down most of the time when the spectators would open her/his hand. I had to turn it upside up so it could be seen clearly.

Kevin James had printed a routine (I don't remember the pamplet or magizine) that involved a special "flip stick" that was specially painted. After doing several flip moves, he would twist the stick into his closed fist making it appear that he was "pouring" its color. He then would reveal a colored SB and continue with a SB routine. A nice begining to a SB routine.
I enjoy using Spong Bunnies and a unique "in the hand" move refering to a "bunny hole" (ie a bunny cave... not a bunny body cavity!). Lynn Fox |

I would advise to begin with "PROEGE" and replaceable skalp knifes those that you by hundreds in a box. Sharp scissors, differentli bent, certainly will be useful. If there will be a questions I can tell more. Ask. I can tell: To begin with that, most important is exact to present in mind What you wish to cut out. It is better to have more pieces of foam of the identical form. If you were mistaken do not try to continue, try to repeat on a following piece. It is necessary to spoil a lot of material. It is impossible to be mistaken. You cannot glue. On 2008-09-30 19:10, Bill Palmer wrote: After carving to shape, dye the sponge to the color you want. The electric carving knife I was referring to is the kind that you buy in a department store to carve meat. I think the first one I used was by General Electric. It has two serrated, reciprocating blades that are side-by-side with each other. Use no pressure when using this kind of knife.
After viewing your videos, especially the morph dragons and the Architectural Projects, I see how your system works, and I think the disposable scalpels would be the best thing to use for that. Also, I see that using foam that is already dyed would be best for your projects. BTW, I really like that teakettle.

Not original I know, but I usually close my sponge routine with the old 2 in pocket, 1 in hand bit, with all of them vanishing in the end. Again, I know this is not original, but always seems to get a great reaction, which at the end of the day, is all that matters. Oh, how fun it is to hook the spec in the mouth, and REEL them in.

I'm ashamed to actually mention this (if you were in my family, you'd understand why), but I recently noticed that my magic shop is now selling sponge mushrooms.

I sorely MISS my "Ladybugd" by Rod Spade. I performed it all the time. It was very commercial. People loved it. Then in the process of moving, I lost them!
I am determined to get some back, but Google only leads me to Penguin, who no longer has them in stock. Does ANYBODY know where I can buy the effect? Daff

Here's a move I had worked on several years ago, but never published. This clip was the first time I had done it. Tell me what you think of the transition move.

BTW, I FOUND the lady bug sponges at Denny and Lee's! Not only that but "Legacy" by Underground Collective. Which I thought had left the surface of this planet. So Denny now has a new fan and future customer.
