It's been done. Bill Palmer will have all the specifics. More than one magician has had non-electronic, but electric/pneumatic tables.

So the answer to your question is yes.

Look in the back of the Michael Ammar book. There is the Delaporte table. I have actually seen this table. It's in Ray Goulet's collection.

I'd like some electrified cups, to deal with grabby kids.

Why would you want electrified cups anyway? Maybe being able to turn on and off a set of chop cups might lead to some interesting things, but the cups and balls are really entertaining just the way they are.

Just heat the cups for the grabbers.

You could use the Col. Parker "dancing chicken" gimmick.
