There is a topic below in regards to Vanishing Bandana for adults... I am curious if anyone does or has used Bigger Wands in a routine for adults? Obviously the wands are props, and you generally need a reason for bringing them out. I personally thought with the right routine, these could be funny for adults as well. Any thoughts?

That is a good idea. I just thought of some ideas but I can't name it hear because it is too sexual. It will flow in good at a comedy night club in Detroit.

For adults I agree with Dynamike. I've used them with adults in the room, but always with kid(s) helping. If you do blue material (I don't) then it doesn't take too much imagination to come up with an adult themed presentation.
If anyone is clever enough to use the bigger wands for adults without the sexual references or innuendo - I would love to hear about it - I love the prop and would love to use it with adults as well. |

Using bigger wands for adults is something worth exploring - whether with clean or sexual materials.

That actually gave me a very funny idea. What is you brought a grown up and a child up on stage. The concept would be that you talk about having both of them help you with the effect. In order to do so you need to have lots of magic. You overstate (in a humorous fashion) that because he is an adult and a tall guy he gets the biggest wand and because he is a short kid, he will get the short wand. However, as the effect and routine progresses, the adult is constantly getting something wrong or causing something wrong to happen or getting a question wrong. What happens then is that every single time that happens, the adult ends up getting a smaller wand and the kid ends up getting a bigger one.
You would progress this way having both of them interacting with you. It would get to a point that you would nto even have to say anything. The adult would obviously get something wrong, the kid would get it right. You just stare at the audience, then give the adult a smaller wand and the kid a bigger one. The audience could not help but to laugh. The end result or pose is that this little kid has the biggest wand and the adult has this dinky small one by the end of the routine. It makes he child the star of the show and you get a lot of comedy byplay using the wands in a totally different fashion. Just an idea to play around with. Kyle

Here is something else I just made up:
When I was 12 I wanted to be a magician. I asked my father at home for some money so I can buy a magic wand from the magic shop. My father gave me $20.00 to get a magic wand. I came back home to show my father the wand I bought (show the smallest wand). My father said to me, "No, Mike, that was made in INDIA. That is not a real magic wand." So I took the wand back to exchange it. I came back home to show my father the newer wand (show the the next longer one.) My father said to me, "No, Mike, that was made in CHINA. That is not a real magic wand." So I took the wand back to exchange it. I came back home to show my father the newer wand (show the the next longer one.) My father said to me, "No, Mike, that was made in GERMANY. That is not a real magic wand." So I took the wand back to exchange it. Continue again and again (Last Time) I came back home to show my father the newer wand (show the the next longer one.) My father said to me, "No, Mike, that was made in Mexico. That is not a real magic wand." My father went to the closet and pulled out an huge magic wand (show the largest one). My father said, "Mike, this is a real magic wand because it was made in USA." And that is how I became a magician. |
