I use Stephane Bourgoin's Mini Tennis Balls and Mike Roger’s Mini Baseballs.
The mini tennis balls I bought from that Antarctic Bird place. I have also shimmed one of each for the chop cup. The mini baseballs work the best for concealling the shim. Eric |

Ever tried the steel balls, like Paul Gertner? You can use the sound as misdirection to improve the effect. It looks impossible.

Marbles also work to effect like the steel ball bearings or Pinballs

...just make sure you clean the excess mud off, otherwise you'll really have a dirty hand.

There's a guy on eBay who makes some nice monkey's fist balls.
I like the crotcheted ones though.

I've just ordered the mini tennis balls. It made sense since I'm already producing tennis balls anyway. Thanks for the link Mr. Proctor.
RNT2's Phoenix Sunfire looks delicious, so I'll be ordering them when I can afford to. Thanks everyone, for all the great info. I'll be trying some of the other suggestions eventually.
So sorry I soiled your precious eyes.
