Bill Smiths'Magic Ventures has come out with acouple pretty neat illusions.. one called I think " Cutting Edge" and the other "Death Drop" One divides the assistant in 8 sections and the other illusion is like a spiker illusion where the person vanishes.. I've seen both units and have to say they are two of the most deceptive props to have come out in a long time.

I think generally speaking what's new in illusions is the "no big shiny boxes" approach . See Copperfield's latest work and for the rest of us mortals the illusion concepts of Andrew Mayne.
Self-mutilation and or self-levitation seems to be very popular at the moment. |

I saw Bill Smiths' "Cutting Edge" illusion in las vegas last month and thought it was a killer illusion! It has to operate on a completly different principle than I have ever seen before.. There was no base or thick walls ect..and the cabinet was tiny! They performed it on the apron and I was in the front row and could not see how it was done..I could even see behind it! I think it is the next hottest illusion. I spoke with the act that was doing it after the show and they told me they bought the first one. Anyway check it out!
