I am looking for a golf ball with rubber bands in the middle instead of a solid core. can anyone help me with this? name brand and model.

Those balls were called "wound" balls and I don't think anyone makes them anymore. Wilson has a wound ball but it's not the same thing as you remember. By about the year 2000 noone was using wound balls anymore.

I'd look on Ebay or at rummage sales or in the bags of freinds or family who haven't played for a long time. At one time all the mfgs were making wound balls so any ball from 10-15 years ago or older is probably wound with rubber bands.

I may have spoke too soon. I looked around and there are some people making wound balls. Search for "three piece" balls and the words "wound".

Titleist makes a ball called the DT wound that has bands inside. Apparently a few other people do as well.

A "wound ball" is a ball that is made by wrapping rubber bands (really more of a rubber thread) around a core of some sort then putting a cover over it. Most of the balls today are made with a soild material over a core.
