In situations where you have to run your audio wire or whatever across the floor where people will be walking, or you the performer will be walking? Something easy and quick because if setup time before show is limited.
Thanks, Mike

They use it at concerts and movie sets.

I prefer (if across traffic where people walk) bright gaffer or cable tape. If concealed (say along a wall), I use darker tape. BUT -- always cover the trip and fall hazard. And when using lights on stands, make the stands stable -- invest in sandbags and use them if anyone might bump into the light racks.
DO NOT -- DO NOT use duct tape instead of gaffer tape. If your cable gets warm or pressed hard -- the mastic can stick to the substrate and leave a mark on the customer's floor/rug/wall for which you will be responsible. Another safety hazard -- is just to cross tape a cable every few feet. /-----/-------/ Thusly, if any raw cable is to be in traffic, cover all traffic areas with wide enough tape to get this effect for traffic cross over on aisles, etc. --->/////////////////////<-------------
