Hi all,
My name's Oliver Meech and I've been into magic for about 10 years. I started with darwin ortiz and heavily-sleighty stuff, then moved on to paul Harris/sankey stuff with a pinch of derren brown and barry richardson thrown in for good measure. I'm semi-pro hoping to turn fully-pro one day. A few quick personal preferences: vernon over marlo, books over dvds (but dvds are growing on me), red-backed over blue-backed, and don't mind whether it's sleights or gimmicks - whatever makes for the best effect. Oh, and I love creating tricks too. I look forward to chatting with you all.

Hi and Welcome.
If you're with Darwin, read (or re read) his Designing Miracles and Strong Magic. These are two of the best and most useful books in Magic (to become a master instead of just a good mgician)

Just got back from a web-free weekend and read your messages.
thank you for a warm welcome!! actually, just to prove me wrong, London had lovely weather all weekend. I love Strong Magic and Designing Miracles - it's been a few months so I should read them again. They manage that rare feat of being theory books that are imminently practical. I find them most useful when I have a nagging doubt that there's something wrong with a method that I've created - I read them and suddenly it's clear why it isn't working and how to fix it. Genius. speaking of creating stuff, I've posted a few essays and tricks on the blog section of my website. feel free to check them out and let me know what you think.
