Many magicians may not know about the S.A.M. Magic Endowment Fund. It administers, among other projects, a Disaster Relief Fund. This fund helps magicians in need of food, shelter and relief from other losses caused by natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the Mississippi River flooding this past summer, and most recently, Hurricane Ike.
The Disaster Fund is for ALL magicians and allied artists - not only members of the S.A.M. It is seeking donations so it can continue to help magicians affected by Ike. Many still have no power, they have water damage, and they may need shelter, food and drinking water. Many have lost their means of support due to the closing of schools, parks and other venues. The S.A.M. urges your support in helping our fellow magicians. Please make your check out to The Society of American Magicians Magic Endowment Fund and mail it to Disaster Relief, S.A.M. Magic Endowment Fund, 234 Towyn Court, Ambler, PA 19002. Magic Endowment Fund Chairman Brad Jacobs can provide you with more information. You can reach him at samambassador@comcast.net. Your donation to the Magic Endowment Fund is tax deductible. Marlene Clark S.A.M. National Secretary |
