I have this effect, so I figure Id write a review on it.
David Blaine performs it on just about all of his TV specials, including Dive on Death (he did it for Orlando Bloom). I got it for $19.99 from http://www.magicgeek.com Its listed as intermediate there, but its very easy. Only 2 slights are required, and misdirection, preferably eye contact, is key. Any questions feel free to ask. |

This is a very solid cards across effect. It's very easy to do and the moves required, are very casual and shouldn't draw much attention.
It's similar to another cards across routine on the market, but I prefer this presentation. The two individual stack of cards never touch, which I feel makes the effect stronger. Plus the ending allows the spectator to count the stack containing the newly crossed card. The other stack, which is now missing the mentally selected card, can be clearly spread to show their thought of card has truly crossed over. Break out the himber wallet if you need to end clean. But that's probably a classic case of 'over proving' Good stuff. Paul |

I am thinking about getting this at some stage; but have the spectators ever noticed any discrepancies before and after the vanish of the mentally selected card in the packet?

I have performed this a ton, and only one person has caught it, and you can stump them by saying that there are only 9 cards in your packet now, and 11 in your hand now. That should shut them up.

In an era where $20 TO $30 is sometimes being charged for effects of the type that used to be included within the pages of a book.... This is a real breath of fresh air & a real value!
Pick your time and place and knock them out with this wonderful routine. It's extremely EASY to do....It's a wonderful effect to have on hand when you may be asked to do one.... make this look impromptu and it's really amazing! I love performing it! Best, Bk |

One more thing.... MagicianDM..."No". I have never had anyone question anything when performing this. However, I always like to move on before the wheels start turning.

Maybe its just me. There are so many good card tricks available and this one is not in my list of favorites. It's not about how its done or anything, since I don't have it. The effect just doesn't do it for me.

Well of course it's a matter of taste, but I can assure that the reactions I get with it are just tremendous... C'mon, they have 10 cards, you have 10 cards, they simply think of a card and it ends up in THEIR packet without any fumbling or ackward move... Really, it's a good effect (imho of course... ).

I really like performing Daryl's "Double Crossed." Is this effect significantly different?
