Hey all!
I tried to do a search on the subject but so many results on invisible deck came back that I just found it impossible to sort the results out. So, what are those funny lines you use with your invisible deck routine? There is for example: - 'I'll just toss out to you the deck [motion of starting to throw], I didn't throw it yet' - Just give the cards a good shuffle.. You forgot to take them out of the packet.. you can't shuffle the cards when they are inside the packet' |

Ooops, you dropped one. Then reach down and pick the card up for them.
Tell them "Turn the deck over. You're shuffling them face up. Don't you know you can't show the magician the cards." |

Please try not to get your finger prints all over them.
"Now here's the man with the 25 cent hands, that two bit magician..."

The two I use:
Me: "Are you good with cards?" Spectator: "No." Me: Good, I'm glad to hear that. Me: "Take out a card. Don't worry, I'm not looking." |

Have you seen the invisible man recently? He just became a magician and this is his deck of cards?

Victor Trabucco made some great points about the Invisible Deck 'gag lines' and those lines that go along with similar types of effects. He argued that you can get the same laugh from the same lines without putting down the spectator in a negative way. Instead of saying, "You forgot to take them out of the box," you can hand the spectator the invisible deck and then suddenly, "Oops, I forgot to take them out of the box." Same thing with "You dropped some" and similar lines. I think he's got a really interesting point. I've done it both ways, and I'm pretty convinced now that the reaction/laugh is the same, or at least close enough to justify putting the gag on yourself rather than the spectator. Even if everybody laughs, the person that the gag was done to may feel embarrassed or 'had', so why not put the gag on yourself? Just something to think about.

As I pretned to remove it from my pocket and hold it up at my finger tips.... I say:
"Do you know what this is? (Pause) It's an an invisible deck of playing cards...(pause) I bought this on the interent (pause as you look at it).... I paid $40 bucks for it... what do you think?" 90% of the time they say "I think you got ripped off" It's a funny line and the spectator enjoys getting credit for the laugh. "Then I say - I think so too..." and move on. If the rare case they don't say the line... I say it: "I think I got ripped off, what do you think?" I sometimes say things like... "I called them up to complain... they said... it's invisable what do you expect?" Or, "That's okay - I wrote my check with disappearing ink.".
Mediocrity is greatly under rated!

I always say, "Take a look at this deck of cards, it's invisible....most people have never seen anything like it..."

WHen the spectator is showing the card to the audience and you're standing with your back to the audience. Take a little mirror and try to "sneak" to card
