More than judges it is the MONEY. Always follow the money!
You make more for winning than losing. If you want matches to be balls out no matter what, pay them the same for winning as for losing, and you will have exactly that. Till then, guys will fight with whatever style makes them the most money in the end. That is winning. Call it not losing if you want but it is a pure financial decision. You are watching the fight to be entertained, they are feeding the family plain and simple. (Leben maybe fighting for booze money) But that aside they fight for different reasons than you watch.

That's the way the UFC wants it. They are trying to make a respectable sport out of it and get away from the backyard brawler and Tuff Man contest model. It's the same in boxing. And people have been griping about it since they instituted the modern scoring system. Whadda ya gonna do?

Cote has a very good chin, comparable to Leben's. I don't think he'll go into the fight as sloppily as Leben did. Cote also has KO power. He isn't that great on the ground though, so I don't see him taking the fight in that direction. He has training in muay thai, but I doubt he is as effective with it as Silva is.
Do I want Cote to win? Yes. Will I be rooting for him? Yeah. I think it'll make it to the second round at least. Do I see it going all 5 rounds? No. It's a classic case of who I want to win vs who will most likely win. I want Cote to win. Would I put money on it? No. The only way I see Cote winning is with some flash KO strike. I wish I knew if Cote has been training with Greg Jackson. That would start leaning me towards Cote more, because like Couture, he is a master of game plans. I don't know if he is though. I only know he is or was training with GSP, and I know GSP trains with Greg Jackson.

GSP is another bad dude.
Silva has only lost 3 times as a pro. Once by DQ and twice by submission (including that insane flying scissor heel hook which I think you can see on Youtube),so I don't know if Cote can knock him out. Anything can happen I suppose. Although if he is considering boxing Roy Jones Jr, he better be able to take pretty much whatever Cote throws at him. I'm hoping it's a good fight one way or the other, but I have to lean towards Silva. But I have no strong personal preference.

Heh, I think I read somewhere of Dana talking about a possible catch weight fight between GSP and Silva. That is if GSP beats BJ at UFC 94, then he says it's possible. I think he also said if BJ wins that fight, there is no way he'd consider letting BJ move up to 185 to fight Silva lol

I would love to see Silva vs GPS. Both guys are just on fire right now. "Rush" is one bad dude. And he's pretty, way too pretty to be such a badass. Some guys have all the luck.

Sorry Joey, I think Silva is going to take this one. I know you gotta go with your Canadian brother in this one, but I don't know...
I wouldn't bother me if Cote shocked the world. I just think he's running into a buzzsaw.
