What is deck culling?

Unless there is another meaning that I'm not aware of, culling is where you 'secretly' seperate or group certain cards (i.e. the Four Aces or four Kings) while spreading through the deck.

K.C you are correct and as far as I know, it can be one card or a bunch of cards!

More specifically, culling is when the cards are passed secretly under a spread, usually to the top. KC is right, this is generally used to seperate cards. This is a very versatile move in card magic and can be used to do anything from controlling a selected card to seperating all the reds and blacks (oil and water). Variations also are used in application such as forcing. If you work with cards for long, you will learn to cull in some form or another.

There are great culls in Expert at the card table, and Card college!
