Any good resourses on coin bending? What types are best to bend, grip, etc.
I am not in the least bit interested in 'gaffs.' I like my strength feats to be legitimate.

Coin bending is 100% bullsh!t, can't be done bare handed.
Again, good luck.

What is the problem with faking it?
It's super simple, and easy to make look hard... B.

Personal preference I guess. I just like all of my strength feats to be genuine.
It's one thing to do a magic trick where everyone knows it's a trick, and something else to say "I have great strength," and then not actually use strength to accomplish it. If I fake one strength feat then it seems to diminish the feats I really can accomplish. Don't get me wrong, I would never begrudge anyone of using subterfuge to fake these things for entertainment, it's just not what I like to do, personally. Of course, if someone was faking the skills to manipulate people for purposes other than entertainment, then I don't agree with that. That was probably wordier than necessary. But I'm recovering from the flu so I'm tired and rambley. Oh, look, there I go again.

My grandfather was a con-man. A lot that I've learned from him has found it's way into my performance.
I swallow a balloon in my act. We all know that is a trick. But when combined with sword swallowing the balloon swallow becomes legitimate. I never say that it is real, but I also don't say it's fake. There is no reason that you shouldn't do something because it can't be done (legitimately).

Bent coins don't roll well.

They probably wobble to an interesting rythm though.
I probably will work on a gimmicked bent coin deal. But it will be part of my magic routine, not the strongman one. It would be really easy. Just a simple switch is the only skill needed.

The real work of the coin bend isn't the switch.

I do a coin bend with a signed coin. No switch involved nad it happens in the spectators hand. Not that this is the place for that really.
Oh and I bwith my BEAR hands so cut the its pure "bull poop" Its EASY when you are as strong as me! I can weven do it with my weener........... PM me for the method. |

Well of course the Weiner method is great for the adult show, I use that one all the time to win bar bets. but I also need a method for the family show

You could bend a coin without switching it out. In other words have a signed borrowed coin and bend it and give it back to them. No switch or weiner necessary.
Unless you are talking about where you have a coin end up becoming concave; convex if you look at it from the back. That is a different story. |

That's a more expensive gimmick though.
