Can the tattoo be made visible by the spectator placing their hand on your arm?

Well I finally received it and now realize how stupid my previous question was.
I didn't care all that much for Tattoo Joe albeit I think its a better working method. In all honesty I would have to say that Ghost Ink is totally idiotic. I've been working with it for a couple of hours and by no means can anyone get a close look at it. As a matter of fact it may only be passable if done from some distance or in very poor lighting. It's so obvious looking that it is beyond absurd! I'll have to give credit to Andrew Mayne and the lighting crew for doing a good job so as to making it look convincing on the DVD and in the promo and even then, you could see the "it" at times. I was really holding out hope for this one as I wanted or had some ideas as to working such a thing in with another effect. You might get by with it in a room at night with one candle burning for light in a far off corner but it just ain't gonna cut it in the real world. Don't even waste your money on this one. But....that's just my opinion. ~gaffed~

I have to agree, the concept seemed great but for the life of me I cannot see how this thing is invisible. Maybe I'm missing something??

I just can’t see ever getting away with this unless you just quickly flash it and then roll down your sleeve which is not at all the way it’s depicted. Also, some of the routines, at least to me, do not make much sense. The back of the 10 of Clubs is transferred to your arm, the back of the Ace of Spades is transfer to your arm, the back of an iPhone is placed on your arm and the front/keys show up, etc. Of course you don’t have to use these performances and I was really most interested in making my own designs but that will never happen, at least not with this. He also states that the “Ghost Ink” gimmick can be used several times. Not so and you’re lucky if you can even use it twice as far as I’m concerned! Even if it could only be used once that would be fine with me if it looked convincing. Well, it’s not the first time I got burned and I’m sure it won’t be the last. It happens! ~gaffed~

Some people can make things work and others cannot.
I had to do some modification, but this is working OK for me. I can use the gimmick several times before replacing it (which is quite simple). Conditions have to be controlled. It is not a super piece of magic, but it is not that bad either. Can you have someone inspect the tattoo - no, but did you think that really was going to be the case? |

I'd rather try palming a watermelon before I ever tried to get away with this! But, I'm glad it's working out OK for you. ~gaffed~

As far as I’m concerned you might as well just write some design or whatever on a Post it Note and slap it on your forehead and tell everyone that it’s a tattoo! That’s how obvious looking it is to me! Like I mentioned before, either great lighting or better yet….no light at all! But again, that’s just my opinion. I don't seem to be hearing much else about this and none too many praises about it. However, if it works for others all the power to you. ~gaffed~

Hey...that's what it's all about. Giving opinions so others don't waste their money.
Now you can go out and spend that money on another effect, get frosted and then warn me! ~gaffed~

Thanks everyone for the varying options and reviews. As a "man of darker color" I must always be wary of effects that must blend in with my skin - if you know what I mean (I still feel uncomfortable using a thumbtip in most occasions). Such effects, I wait until I can see it in person, then I make my decision. I'll stop by my local magic shop and see if I can get a demo there. They know me and he wouldn't recommend an effect that he knows wouldn't suit me.
Also thanks Gaffed.
