Hi
Take a look at the links of this youtube below, this are the Dove manupulation act by Valentino....I watched this back in 1997-1998. Cosidering this is filmed 12-13 years back, at that time not so much dove teach in..yet he can obtain such great skill of dove manipulation...he must have spent a lot of time practising it....look at all the steals...very smooth. But really sad why he decided not to pursue a career by doing this dove act rather than hidind behind a mask & be a masked magician..really a sad ending http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmQTJBq7M_s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBC_E9-6WFM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCWUdiFkROY |

I agree. I have had some of these performances on video for many years. He had some very good ideas and I really enjoyed his performance. However, his idea to expose many secrets on national TV was not so hot.

Everytime I see these acts I just think of how great Lance Burton is to have inspired so many clones!

Many people who don't know better just see a guy with a classic magic style doing doves and call them a lance Burton clone. that's unfortunate. This guy is not a clone, he has his own spin on his own act.
Lance is an amalgam of people who inspired him, like shimada, Neil Foster and others too. Don't be so quick to judge. Judge him for turning into an *** masked moron, but not for being a lance Burton clone. Once, I heard someone call Tony Clark a Lance Burton clone, I also heard someone call Dan Birch and Andy Amyx a lance Burton clones. Its ignorance to all the nuances of dove magic, that simple. A guy wearing a tuxedo coat and producing doves is not a lance Burton clone, he is simple the archtype of a magician. I just saw a young dove magician that reminded me of Lance Burton, not for being a clone, but for being so smooth and flawless, for being so elegant with his magic and his beautiful doves. His act was completely fresh, modern and original enough but he was wearing an outfit like Lance or Dan Birch or many other dove workers would wear. The audience was taken with him and trust me, most of that audience never saw or heard of Lance Burton. John |
