I have asked this before, but does anyone know if there are any gaff decks that use these type of cards? Half red, half blue (vertical.) It is far too expensive to have 52 custom made as I have made inquiries. Any help appreciated, thanks.

I've never seen or heard of such a deck. If they're too expensive to custom order then pick yourself up a copy of The Art of Card Splitting and make your own deck up. It will take quite a bit of time to do a full deck but given that some cards won't come out right the first time around it shouldn't cost you more than the materials + 4 decks of cards.

I can't recall ever seeing a card like this. Full back to back and caddy corner yes, but not a vertical 50/50 split, physically or in print. That covers the past 50 years. Sorry!

Card split 52 cards? Never in a million years, in fact it would take me a million years. Thanks cardician99.

Hey Pegasus! Is this for a color-changing deck routine? If so, pretty cool idea.

There was such a deck printed maybe 10 years back because I have one. It was for an effect marketed by Mark Mason and JB magic, but checking their site, I don't think it is made or carried now.
I bought it at a convention years ago, but never perfromed it for anybody. The deck was printed using Hoyle poker cards, and this may have been before USPCC acquired the Hoyle line. The fact that I never used Hoyle brand cards may be the reason I never used it and the reason it has resided in my sock drawer all these years. The trick is called "Decked Out" and a brief outline of the effect is: 1. Deck is desplayed showing both sides using an in hand or table spread 2. The deck appears to be red backed and completely mixed. 2. Spectator chooses a card which is removed from the deck. It is placed face down and its value is unknown. 3. Deck changes color to blue backed 4. Deck rearranges itself into new deck order. 5. Previously selected red back card is identified since it is the only card missing from the new deck order spread. The spreads showing the full deck color change are accomplished using cards printed on the back just as you describe. (Along with one red/blue double backer.) However the cards are also gaffed on the faces to accomplish the change back to new deck order, so the deck has to be handled carefully both face up and face down,--and obviously, it cannot be inspected. This means it is pretty much dedicated to the effect as described. I guess one could use it for a quick throw off color change and then simply put it away saying you only use the opposite color when you perform. Cheers

I have split cards a few times, and although it may be time consuming, it's not very hard. I made my own color fusion gaff card with one corner a different color.

In my teen years we use to split cards for back palming purposes, then treat them with fanning powder. What a task! Just when you were about ready to get a good one split, paper went south and ruined it! NEVER again!! Ha!

Check out penguin magic, in one of their color changing deck effect. Too bad don't have time at the moment, I'll try to look it up and make another post if I find it.
