Gaddy- the last known Homo s. neanderthalensis has been dated at about 32,000 years ago, so the DNA is still viable. In fact, there's an ongoing project to sequence the Neanderthal genome. -Erik

Not to sound snarky or anything, but did you actually read any of my posts, including the original one where I talk about the cloning of neanderthals from their DNA and the mapping of their dna? My comment was in regards to the dinosaur comment I quoted...

Oops.
Hey, when you're trying to keep up with all the threads here, things get glossed over and all blended together. I thought I was posting on the Religulous thread or something...

This thread is really facinating but ultimately a dead end. (no pun intended)
In today's politically correct climate, the facts could not be addressed or even discussed. Because of the enforced sensitivity numerous issues could not even be broached. Obvious facts could not be weighed, problems could never be solved. There will never be an end to racism or the perception of it. Discussing the issues surounding it is considered racist. Putting a light on the problems is racist...it would be near impossible to find an impartial group to study the facts, mull over the results and release the findings. I can give the perfect example but don't dare even bring it up even though it is not racist at all but racial in it's formula of elements. We are finished really because we can't sit down and talk truthfully about issues. It's what political correctness does...it stifles. Things that are obvious have to go unsaid thus are left out of any equation to solve a situation. HOWEVER...maybe the Neanderthal IS the solution. Aside form the predictable manuevers of the ACLU there would be no 'group' to protest every nuance...not untill we cloned a batch of 'em and set up a population. As far is Neanderthal could 'talk' or not what an eliteist premise that is. They had an organized, creative and for a time successful society. Thety were survivors as a group dynamic. Vocal communication would have had to be in place. French had to come from somewhere! (OK a joke...BUT there are sounds in French not easily made by the human voice box with out twisting natural sounds...hmmmm)
