Not sure if Vanishink is still the special of the day at the Sankey Magic Monster Sale but you might be lucky!
The rules of a sleight of hand artist, Are three, and all others are vain,

The 1st & the 2nd are practice... And the 3rd one is practice again

On my dvd set Omega Mutation, I have an effect called "Appearing Sharpie". It was also featured in last April's Genii Magazine. Practical, no sleeves method of producing a Sharpie.

I have to second Cameron's humble recommendation. I had the chance to review his DVD set for MUM. This was one of the effects I immediately made up and have been doing it ever since. There, now you don't have to take his word for it.

OH,

I have a trick called Re-Clipped in the October 2008 issue of Genii Magazine. It's a very practical, easy trick with a Sharpie, and can be easily fit into any working repetriore.

Rune Klan's "Impromptu Hit Man" features a plot where a coin disappears and trades place with a Sharpie in multiple phases. I've only seen Merrill's routine once, but I think some of his segments may have been based on this routine.

It's taught on Joshua Jay's "Talk About Tricks" DVD:

Here's more on Sankey's "Vanishink," his vanishing Sharpie effect:

Also, here's my review of "How to Make a PK Sharpie":

Jay Sankey's "Vanishink" is a must. Perform it once and you will always carry it.

Killer stuff and well worth the investment, plus it is entertaining hehehehehe, its a video cd with performances and instructions are in pdf format. The material is strong and his creative process is top notch!

He also has a DVD out with Todd Diamond currently at http://www.magicfromthegrave.com It has gotten really good reviews and it is a great DVD! Plus an un edited interview with Amazing Johnathan!
