The classic palm is one of the easiest palms to perform. With very little practice, you should be a pro at it in no time at all.
The most important thing about the classic palm is to not over-think it. 1) Place coin (of your own choice) into palm. 2) Don't let it fall out. 3) Do not let anyone know you are holding a coin secretly in your palm. That's all there is to it. Good luck! :spinningcoin: |

I just lick my forehead and stick the coin there. Of course, some misdirection is needed.

I agree with Mano. This IS kind of exposure. Plus, some people just don't get it, and that is why I wrote my little article on the classic palm. And mastering it like a pro in no time is not possible. lol (I'm being hypothetical, but still, it takes a while to get it down.)

I think I'm finally getting the classic palm, people. At first, I don't think I could hold a coin in classic palm at all. I know when I try the classic palm with my left hand right now, I can't do it at all, it just falls out every time. Now I can type with a coin in classic palm, not perfect but okay. I'm classic palming a coin as I type this. I think I'll just get better with it. The classic palm just takes practice and the persistence to NEVER give up. It is certainly not an easy sleight, but it is well worth the effort. I can't wait to master it, so I can utilize the classic palm in David Stone's Basic Coin Magic DVD. I'm already half way there.
I start work tomorrow, sit down piece work (assembly). I think I'll bring the coin and classic palm it as I work. |

If your hands are like feet like mine are, you will never, never be able to classic palm a coin. Not even if you use Justin's techniques.

Think of it like this; If you were to join a gym and start weight training, and the first day you walked in and expected to bench press 315 lbs. Sure, there are guys there who can, but it took time to develop the muscle. Today, you might only be able to bench 100 lbs, but if you stick to it, soon you'll be bench pressing a lot of weight. 2) ALWAYS use the other hand! Don't be a one-handed magician. Practice with and use both hands, then you'll be twice as deadly with your sleights! Good luck! Oh, one more thing... While you are at it, practice with OTHER items; Peanuts Small coins Pool balls A Pen Anything and EVERYTHING! If it fits, (classic) palm it! |
