Hi there.
I love the Thumb Spin-effect in Smokin' Aces, but I can't find it's name or description anywhere. Anybody who knows where to locate it? Thanx! Samuel

It's a fake set up especially for the film. only-possible-on-tv.
actually in Hugard's original "Card Manipulations" volumes there was a very similar effect described using a fake (a long pin that protruded from the wrist/sleeve), the card was stuck on the end of the fake and when the hands were removed it looks to be floating. for smokin aces it appears they've just added a rotating bearing in one end of it. not practical for live performances, if you wanted a similar effect you'd probably have to make it yourself. |
