Jeff McBride sent me these clips a few weeks ago. I wanted to rehand these down to the community, and this is the only forum worthy. Get ready for a strange ride. Geoff was an Australian magician. I believe he died in the early 1980s.
I have long been thinking about how to express Bizarre and magic on the internet. The net is a weaker tool for expressing magic in some ways...yet the power of film cannot be denied. I have started doing a little research on this guy. He seems to have lived his art to say the least. I wish he were among us today.
Beware of this and that.

I've seen something like this before...it was in a dream after eating a particularly peculiar bunch of mushrooms.

Wow... I really wish I was eloquent enough to describe exactly how beautiful this is. Instead, I'll just write a Haiku.

I love that clip where he basically sets himself on fire and doesn't miss a beat - he simply takes off the flaming cape and waves it around like it was part of his act and eventually stops it out - never stopping anything about his performance. Now THAT is a SHOWMAN!
In the comments the guy said he saw some of the stage doorway start burning during a performance because he had so much fire going. And now every freaks out if they see a cigarette, that was a different age!
