Gday
Have made two trick coins (one double tail and one double head) does anyone know of a routine in a book or on dvd that allows to normal coins to be swap out with two double coins. in effect have the both tails jump to one coin and the two heads jump to the other coin. allowing inspection of normal coins before the trick and inspection of the two gaffed coins after the magic change??? can anyone help thanks |

I personally never heard of such a routine. But why don't YOU create your own routine? You have the idea... If you have a good Classic palm, PM me... I'm thinking of something

Just use a variant of the Utility Switch (or Bobo Switch if you like) from Bobo's "Modern Coin Magic"... you'll need the two gaffed coins, and at least three similar non-gaffed coins. I'm assuming you're standing and right handed in the following...
Prepare by putting the three normal coins in your left pocket and Classic Palming (CP) the two gaffed coins in your right hand (RH). To begin, take out the three coins in your left pocket with your left hand (LH); display the coins in your LH by keeping the hand flat, palm up, and parallel to the floor (around waist height). At this time, you may let the spectators examine the coins. Retrieve them with your RH thumb and forefingers, putting them back into your LH which is still held as previously described. Now, again with your RH thumb and forefingers, turn over each coin while calling attention to the number -- make sure two of the coins are in the LH palm and ready for the Utility Switch (US). Now comes the crucial move, you want it to look as if you transfered the three coins from LH to RH... BUT you will actually RETAIN two coins in LH CP, leaving one coin to join the two gaffed coins in your RH. (The classic US just uses one coin and it's finger palmed; you may want to start with this.) The hand motions are similar to your Standard Vanish (from LH to RH), except you have extra coins in the LH which will transfer to the RH (joining the two gaffed coins). After you've executed the US, you now have two normal coins in LH CP and are displaying three coins in your RH (one normal and two gaffed). Pick up the normal coin with your LH thumb and fingers while saying something like, "Actually, I only need two coins for this illusion," and dump the coin in your LH finger tips into your left pocket (this allows you to ditch the two normal coins in LH CP.) The Utility Switch is simple with practice, yet VERY deceptive because it allows you to show X number of coins in both hands (while you actually have X + 1, X + 2, etc.)... this is certainly a useful move which everyone should learn ^_^ Good Luck, Kyle P.S. If you're sitting instead, you could either do this or use lapping to switch out the two. Also, make sure to practice the US with both hands, as it is very useful. |
