OK I don't want this to turn into the debate. I just want it to be like a poll so I can
1. If a lay person asks us as magicians how (lets say CA) did some trick from a TV show is it ok to say it was done with camera tricks? 2. If a lay person asks us as magicians how (lets say bill Malone)did sam the bell hop is it ok to say it was done with sleight of hand? |

That's also how I am responding now. As far as the ethics invloved I was looking for is it right or wrong? See this all stems from another post on here where I belive that telling LAY people someone did a trick by the means of camera trickery is exposing the method in which it was done? SO as far as the questions above how do you feel.
#1. right or wrong? #2. right or wrong? |

Erm I would never do it because it's WRONG to take the curiosity from the spectator who has mentioned it/ asked it.
They are obviously in wonder about the event, so I wouldn't take that away from them. Posted: Jan 26, 2009 9:08pm IMHO of course. |

I think he did it very well.
I don't know as that's not my field of study but I could ask him.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

So far you guys think its wrong.. IE.. exposing that trick!!! that's what I said in another area and I am getting hammered because they said its not exposing the trick! cuz lay people know about "camera tricks" and I said but they don't know (for instants CA)uses them for some of the things he does. I feel SO good about my stance about this even more so now! ty guys!
